Although we are not a religious camp, Jewish culture and identity are integrated into the program in a manner that is fun, creative and entertaining.  Through special events such as our Israel Day celebration; hands on activities including challah baking, shofar factory and Kosher sushi making; and guest performances by musicians, Israeli dancers and Jewish rock bands, we celebrate old and new traditions and explore our Jewish heritage.

On Friday night we light candles and enjoy a traditional Shabbat dinner and on Saturday we enjoy a late wake-up, bagel breakfast and a special program.  In the past we have celebrated different Jewish holidays on Shabbat, such as Sukkot where we made edible sukkahs out of chocolate, pretzel rods, and marshmallows, and Purim where we had a costume party and brought in carnival rides.  Regardless of religious background or affiliation, all of our campers are made to feel welcome and comfortable at Camp Louemma.
